JASPERINA DE VRIES

CHAIRMAN, STUDY ASSOCIATION STAR, ROTTERDAM SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, THE NETHERLANDS
Jasperina de Vries is Chairman of Study Association STAR, which is the study association of the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM). Every year, 250 active members organize about 40 projects; with 6,500 members STAR is the largest study association of Europe. As Chairman of the Board, consisting of 8 people, she is responsible for STAR's processes, decisions and strategy. 
21-year-old Jasperina is a Dutch business student who has completed a bachelors degree in International Business Administration at RSM. Her exchange experience includes the Schulich School of Business (Toronto, Canada). She has held teaching assistant jobs as well as various summer positions. Ambitious and straightforward Jasperina is an open person interested in international business perspectives. She is planning to pursue a masters degree at RSM as well as abroad after having served a year on the board of STAR full-time.

MICHELE TRICKEY
(International Student Senate 2010-2011)

PRESIDENT, AIESEC UNITED STATES

Michele Trickey is the President of AIESEC United States, Inc., the United States chapter of the world's largest youth-run association. Her work supports youth leadership development in the 110 countries and territories of the AIESEC network through AIESEC's unique combination of international internships, team-based leadership experiences, and a global learning environment. During Michele's tenure as President, AIESEC United States has grown its partnership with such firms as DHL, Sony Ericsson, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and other recognized industry leaders, making it possible for aspiring young leaders from other countries to experience the business culture of the United States. Michele's team has also supported the growth of AIESEC's Salaam exchange program, which develops connections between students in United States and Oman, Bahrain, and Qatar.

Michele received her bachelor's degree in physics, summa cum laude, from Yale University in May 2010. As a student, she conducted research on the dynamics of rainfall over coastal Chile and Ecuador as part of a broader project in sustainable wetland management. Her experience with large volumes of complicated weather data led to her interest in information management and business intelligence in an increasingly digitized world. Michele speaks English, Spanish, as well as passable Russian and MATLAB. In her free time she reads, creates messes in the kitchen, and tries to keep up her Shotokan karate.

JOERI DERYCKERE
(International Student Senate 2010-2011)

MEMBER OF GOVERNORS AND EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, GHENT UNIVERSITY, BELGIUM

Joeri Deryckere is a history major currently pursuing a supplementary master's degree in General  Economics at Ghent University (UGent). During his career as a students' representative, he was a member on the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, managed the social and external policy of the Ghent Students' Union (GSR) as vice-president, and fulfilled positions as an external representative of the National Union of Students in Flanders (VVS).

He came into contact with the Flemish and international educational world and managed to give students a voice in major issues.  The prolongation of the master's degree, the accreditation of university courses in the Netherlands and Flanders and the integration of academic bachelor courses into the universities in Flanders were his main points of interest during these years.

In March 2010, Joeri was elected by his peers to be a member on the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee of Ghent University. The skills he acquired during the past period of commitment support him as a students' representative: social awareness, team play, negotiation management and file knowledge.  The focus on the social dimension of higher education processes in Ghent, Flanders and Europe remains of utmost importance to him.

MATEJ CVETEK

STUDENT BODY REPRESENTATIVE, DOBA FACULTY, SLOVENIA

Matej Cvetek graduated in Business Management from Doba Faculty in Maribor, Slovenia. Selected as a representative of the student body he worked with the school encouraging others to study at the faculty and he represented Doba Faculty at many PR events in Slovenia.


Matej started his career as a restaurant manager leading 18 employees. In pursuit of adventure he continued his career as a squad leader in the Slovenian Army, including a tour in Afghanistan. Since then he has been working for a civil engineering company as a project manager.
Beyond his career he is a second year part-time student in the International Business Management Master Programme at Doba Faculty. He enjoys long distance running and cycling.

DANIEL STEVENS
(International Student Senate 2010-2011)

PRESIDENT, STUDENTS' UNION, UNIVERSITY OF WARWICK, UK

Daniel Stevens is the President of the University of Warwick Students' Union, a charitable company employing over three hundred members of staff with an annual turnover of £7 million. He's the primary representative and figurehead for over 21,000 students and oversees organisational strategy, external relations, major campaigns and governance.

Daniel has lived in four countries, visited over thirty and speaks three languages. As a Brazilian, he became the first international student President in the history of his Students' Union. At University, he graduated with a first class in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. This included a year abroad specialising in Economics and International Business at the Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo.

During his studies, he worked part-time, served as a course representative and helped found two different student societies - the Warwick United Nations Youth and Student Association and Warwick Libertarians. The former promoted the work of the United Nations on campus and the latter debated certain areas of political and economic philosophy.

ALEX SLATER
(International Student Senate 2010-2011)

TREASURER OF THE ENGLISH SOCIETY, HENLEY BUSINESS SCHOOL, UK

Alex Slater is currently studying business administration and management in the hope of finding a job in marketing when he graduates in 2011. The reason that he decided to study management was because he had a great interest in business studies during sixth form (Bullerswood) and decided to pursue this as a career in later life. He hopes to get a job with a major accounting or audit firm once he has finished his studies at Reading. He also intends to go into marketing and sales as well as management. During the course of his time at University he has undertaken a number of extracurricular activities such as Treasurer of the English Society as well as Faculty Representative for the Henley Business School.

Alex is passionate about films and regularly goes to the cinema to see the latest releases. This has allowed him to form a wide opinion about the sort of things that interest him and those that don't. Another pastime is reading novels such as Catch22 and To Kill a Mockingbird (although Stephen King is his favourite).

MICHAL KACZOR

PRESIDENT, POLISH BUSINESS SOCIETY, LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS, UK

Having completed the International Baccalaureate program, Michal is now studying 2nd year BSc Management at the London School of Economics. He is a recipient of the Stelios scholarship designed for students of business-related disciplines. Michal's main activity is leading the Polish Business Society, an organization that aims to link Polish enterprises with students from the UK. His society hosted events with speakers like the President of Poland or CEOs of the major Polish banks.

This Summer, Michal added another point to the list of his interests - international development. Having completed a voluntary internship in Nepal, he is now working as a Development Manager in a charity called "The Student Initiative".

RUBEN HAMILIUS

MEMBER OF THE BOARD, EKONOMIKA ALUMNI, KATHOLIEKE UNIVERSITEIT LEUVEN, BELGIUM

Ruben Hamilius is studying for a Master's in Commercial Engineering at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) in Belgium, a program which included an exchange for one semester at Singapore Management University. He has a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Engineering, taking options in finance and accounting, also from KUL. He is a member of the faculty council for the Faculty of Business and Economics at KUL and he is a member of the board of directors of the alumni association, Ekonomika Alumni and of Ekonomika VZW. At his secondary school in Oostende he was president of the student council.

Ruben has had work experience at Ebbinge and Company (student recruiter), Logos (tutor of maths and accountancy), Hamilius & Partners (portfolio management and accountancy) and Schellaert NV (administration). He is a qualified judo instructor and also enjoys climbing and acting. His nationality is joint Belgian and Luxembourger and he speaks Dutch, French and English fluently and also speaks Luxembourgish and German.

NAAMA LILACH

MBA 2010 CLASS PRESIDENT, INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT IMD, SWITZERLAND

Naama Lilach, ME in Aerospace Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, is currently an MBA student at IMD business school in Lausanne, Switzerland. Naama is the class ombudsperson, liaising between faculty, administration and students and is an active member of the social committee. As a business leader she intends to promote economic and political stability in the Middle East through peaceful cooperation in technological development.

Naama has over 7 years of project and operations management experience in the global space industry. Prior to her MBA studies, Naama successfully managed the launch of two of Israel's most advanced satellites at Israel Aerospace Industries, after which she became the company's Head of Support Team. During her Bachelor degree she founded the Israeli chapter of Students for Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) and initiated a series of lectures for elementary school students, inspiring the next generation towards excellence in space. Naama is a passionate scuba diver and ex-professional basketball player.
