Yasser Mahmood

FORMER STUDENT DIRECTOR, BPP LAW SCHOOL, LONDON


Yasser Mahmood graduated with a First in Law and went on to secure a scholarship to complete the Bar Vocational Course and was called to the Bar in 2010. Whilst a student, he was a Student Leader at the Inner Temple and Student Director at BPP Law School.

Yasser has worked as a Political Researcher to Professor Nicholas Bourne AM at the National Assembly for Wales and Legal Researcher to Stephen Kamlish QC at Tooks Chambers. He was a member of the Criminal Defence team in the case of R v Dr Mohammed Asha, who was subsequently acquitted (the London and Glasgow Airport bombing conspiracy of June 2007). He has undertaken legal work for the Free Representation Unit. He undertakes pro bono work for a number of NGO's including ‘The Monitoring Group'. Currently, Yasser lectures in Law at IPAG Business School, Nice and is working with Cherie Blair on ‘The Africa Justice Foundation'.
