Francesco Marani
(International Student Senate 2010-2011)

PRESIDENT, FINANCE CLUB, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SAILING CLUB, IE BUSINESS SCHOOL, MADRID

Francesco Marani graduated in Economics from the Universita' degli Studi di Bologna in 2003. He then completed his civil service duty in a primary school providing support to disabled people. Moving to London he worked for a capital market consulting firm, Thomas Murray, where he advised institutional investors, stock exchanges and central banks. Later Francesco moved into investment banking where he worked within a structured derivatives desk for JP Morgan in London during challenging times (Bear Sterns bailout, Lehman collapse, etc). Then, given the negative market conditions, he decided to undertake an MBA.

Francesco is a very active student, who enjoys leading people with common interests, as he does in the IE Finance Club and the IE Sailing Club, always with a goal in mind: to facilitate networking and exchange of know-how, as well as increasing the reputation of his business school.
